Stephon Marbury Opens Mouth; Universal Truths Gush Forth

So Stephon Marbury was in attendance at newly minted New York Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni's first press conference and was not at a loss for words. If you will remember, Isiah had essentially banned Marbury from anything even remotely Knicks-related (he couldn't even attend that ice cream social that they had in Hoboken), so I'm assuming he's taking advantage of his newfound freedom to bathe in all things Knicks. Or not. He had plenty to say, though:
Bringing in a new regime is definitely gonna mix things up. People have been getting a taste of something for a long time. Now they want something different.
Really? You mean they don't want a continuation of the putrid style of play that you perpetuated when Isiah was the coach? Perhaps the fans are tired of your 'me-first, screw everyone else' attitude? Maybe they're tired of you being a shitty basketball player? Maybe the thought of you making $21.9M next season makes them want to puke. Who knows, right?

Marbury went on to detail his new workout regimen, which includes "running up the mountains," and his excitement for playing for the new coach. D'Antoni, for his part, wasn't exactly embracing Marbury, saying that the team needed to put him "in certain situations," in order to maximize his strengths, and "not worry about the weaknesses." Now that's a ringing endorsement.

I don't know about you, but that sounds like a recipe for "Sorry, Stephon, but we're only going to put up with your crap as long as we have to. Now go sell some cheap shoes."

And, you know, lay off the interns.
